In one of the most modern technology centers for micro-machining, we also develop holistic machining processes - including for customer projects.
Thanks to our expertise, we develop sustainable, efficient and somewhat 'crazy' machining solutions, offering high added value for our customers.
For our new manufacturing plant in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, we are looking for a Tools Application Specialist.
Requirements
Main Function and Responsible Area / Goal of the task:
  • Provide strong, technology driven solutions to demanding customer applications
  • Coordinate and divulge all technical input, updates, aspects and solutions with Mikron, Division Tool technical headquarters in Europe

Main tasks / Responsibilities
  • Understand customer requirements of application, including machining technology, machine limitations, materials etc.
  • Cultivate high level of awareness and technical knowledge of Mikron Tool and NS Tool products
  • Study and understand new tools as they are developed and released to standard line\
  • Works closely with internal tool team (Technical Engineering Team, Production engineering Team, Regional Sales Managers)
  • Visits to customers with RSM in order to assist with tool testing, troubleshooting and presentations on tooling solutions
  • Sporadic visits to Mikron Tool facilities in Europe /US
  • Support marketing activities in cooperation with the headquarter in Agno
  • General office support when required and upon request
  • Provide application solutions to RSM and clients
  • Visit Customers and Distributors
  • Produce Special tool quotations for requests, as well as for standard items and NS Tools
  • Advice customers on new products and existing product functions / capabilities\
  • Provide overall Technical Advice to all Customers, Reps and Distributors
  • Interface with Mikron Tool in Agno for technical questions and problem solving
  • Use and file proper paperwork associated with quotations / parameter requests / technical assistance / tool recommendations and applications history
  • Organize and keep workpiece sample collection
  • Apply correctly the standardized administration processes and instructions as for test tools, customer complaints, shipping, etc, in support of RSM
  • Support quotation process for all Mikron Tool locations

Skills
  • Experience in cutting tool technology
  • Expert knowledge in:
  • Metallurgy, metal alloys and carbide
  • Machining processes in drilling, milling and tapping
  • Able to read technical drawings and to sketch ideas and concepts
  • College education, emphasis on mechanical engineering
  • Systematic and analytical thinking
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge with SAP. CRM or similar systems
  • Excellent communication skills to present company, products and technology
  • Technical writing skills

  • 3 years minimum related customer service in a manufacturing company experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced team environment
  • High Level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with co-workers and customers
  • Self-starter with a solid ability to manage work and customers with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer aptitude with Microsoft Office Products
  • Familiarity with an ERP system- prior SAP Systems experience a plus
  • Comfortable with web-based applications such as Microsoft SharePoint and Salesforce
  • A leader willing to take initiative and assist and follow through on tasks
  • A team player willing to help with the small office "extra" work that may fall outside of the regular job responsibilities.

Salary Description
$75,000-$84,000
