The Role:
  • Exciting opportunity for an experienced, talented and ambitious extrusion professional to join a fast-paced and creative production team at the forefront of the global LED lighting revolution.
  • You will perform a variety of tasks associated with the production and quality assurance of new optical components based upon profile, film and sheet extrusion processes.

A successful candidate will be able to do the following:
  • Set up, operate and maintain extrusion production equipment used to make optical grade profiles, sheet and film products from materials such as acrylic and polycarbonate.

This includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Starting up and shutting down of extrusion and ancillary equipment.
  • Keeping the extruder fed with resin by conveying, drying, and accurately blending raw materials to the specified formulation.
  • Changing of dies and preparing of equipment for production runs.
  • Observing and adjusting equipment parameters to ensure proper optical, visual and mechanical characteristics.
  • Updating daily production logs, work orders and quality documentation to capture run conditions, product characteristics and raw material batch information for traceability and quality control.
  • Ability to accurately read work orders and quality documentation.
  • Creating and filing of retains and first articles.
  • Packaging and labeling of products for shipment or internal use.
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
  • Perform verification testing and confirm products meet operate to required specifications.
  • Ensure all products are produced in a timely manner and in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Perform basic maintenance on the extruder and ancillary equipment, including cleaning of the screw and die.
  • Support company-wide continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Who You Are:
  • Practical hands-on skills with previous experience operating extrusion equipment.
  • Focus on safety, quality and productivity.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • A team player with excellent general presentation and leadership skills.
  • College education related to plastics engineering a plus, though not essential.
