Job description

Overview

We're hiring CNC Machinists for our precision medical machine shop.

You'll set up and run high-mix, low-volume jobs on 5-axis mills, horizontal mills, and Swiss-style lathes, machining complex medical parts to tight tolerances. You'll own each job from print to first-piece inspection, often running multiple machines at once.

You don't need to walk in able to run every machine. Our 2+ month on-site onboarding program trains you on this equipment. We hire for fundamentals and teach the rest.

Compensation

  • $27-$32/hr
  • Unlimited optional overtime - 50 hours guaranteed
  • Up to $90k / yr (including 50 hour schedule)
  • Double-time pay after 56 hours

Shift

  • 2nd Shift (M-F)

What You'll Run

  • 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills, including horizontal mills
  • Mill-turn, multi-spindle, and Swiss-style lathes
  • CMMs and Keyence vision systems for inspection

Responsibilities

  • Setups: Independent setups and fixture changeouts on mills and lathes.
  • Machine Tending: Install collets, bushings, cams, gears; load bar stock.
  • Multi-Machine Operation: Run multiple CNC machines at the same time.
  • Tooling & Offsets: Adjust tool positions, change tools, use tool monitoring.
  • Print Reading: Read part prints and job orders for dimensions, feeds, speeds.
  • Inspection: First-piece inspections using gages, CMMs, and Keyence vision systems.
  • Documentation: Complete dimensional reports and log data in Epicor MRP.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years CNC milling and/or lathe experience
  • Independent machine setups and fixture changeouts
  • Strong blueprint and part print reading
  • Able to follow complex work instructions
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height, depth, and pin gages
  • Basic CMM operation for part inspection
  • Reliable daily attendance on a standard schedule

Preferred

  • Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, or Military industry experience
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
  • Hands-on 5-axis milling experience
  • Robodrill, Makino, Mikron, or DMG Mori proficiency
  • Strong GD&T skills and CMM reporting
  • 2-3+ year tenure at previous employers
  • Technical or trade school certification
