Migration specialists are professionals who manage the process of moving data, applications, or workloads from one environment to another. This could involve cloud migrations, database transfers, or even physical relocations of IT infrastructure. They ensure that the migration is performed efficiently, securely, and with minimal disruption to business operations. Migration specialists often assess existing systems, plan migration strategies, and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a migration specialist?

To excel as a Migration Specialist, you need expertise in data analysis, IT systems, and project management, often supported by a relevant degree in information technology or computer science. Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), migration tools, and certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are typically required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills help you manage complex migration projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
