Are you an experienced full-stack developer with strong Java expertise? Do you enjoy building modern cloud-based applications and solving complex technical challenges? Looking for an opportunity to help modernise enterprise technology while working with a collaborative, agile engineering team?
CFA Institute is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our Application Development team. In this role, you will help modernise business-critical applications, leading the transition from Azure-based .NET solutions to AWS-based Java platforms while contributing across the full software development lifecycle.
You will work alongside architects, engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop and support scalable, secure applications. This is a hands-on senior engineering role suited to someone who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring others, delivering high-quality software and driving continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
  • Design, develop and deliver Java-based applications and services across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Build modern full-stack solutions using Java, React and AWS cloud services.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and contribute to microservices-based architectures.
  • Support the modernisation of Azure/.NET applications to AWS-based Java platforms.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor colleagues and promote engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects and agile teams to deliver secure, scalable, high-quality software.
  • Support production releases, ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong experience building full-stack applications using Java (Java 25 preferred), React.js and AWS, with experience developing RESTful APIs and working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud-native development using AWS services such as Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3 and API Gateway.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Azure, .NET/C#, application modernisation, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), mentoring developers or migrating applications from .NET to Java would be beneficial.

Expected salary range: $80,400 - $105,000 per year.
All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k) or pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
