Function
The Migrant Education Program New Generation System (NGS)Data Clerk's primary role is to enter the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) data and performs various clerical duties. Primary duties include assisting the Migrant Education Specialist in compiling reports, sending communications, preparing forms and memos. Also, processing requisitions purchase orders, staff program payroll, maintaining current records, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Program Case Manager for Migrant Education
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the New Generation System (NGS) and Migrant Student Information Exchange (MSIX) data entry. Proofreads and verifies the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to ensure that information is complete and school enrollment data is entered as required by TEA.
  • Reviews and updates student forms for accuracy, medical alerts, enrollment, withdraw, coursework, credits, state assessments in accordance with the Migrant Education Program Compliance Indicators.
  • Verifies student continued residency and enrollment reports and submits in accordance to the specified Timelines.
  • Identifies and recruits migrant families/students as needed. Enrolls/withdraws migrant students in the summer program, and Project SMART.
  • Answers telephone, relays messages, provides information in accordance with approved procedures, distributes mail, and collects various information using student management systems.
  • Prepares letters, data reports, transmittals, equipment and supply lists, requisitions, processes staff payroll and time/effort documentation for all program staff and other information as needed.
  • Maintains an auditable filing and records system for the program,
  • Operates various office machines and equipment.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by the Migrant Education Specialist.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Challenging situations; limited in-District/Out-of District travel; light lifting
  • Ability to receive information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression.
  • Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards.
  • Ability to convey information and/or instruction to internal/external customers through spoken expression.
  • Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day.
