Mightier is a family-based program developed at Boston Children's Hospital that empowers children to build emotional strength and supports the caregivers who love them. With Mightier's innovative game system, players are able to practice keeping their "cool" while playing fun, award-winning mobile games. Three clinical trials at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Mass General have shown Mightier works as well as medications. The program has served over 25,000 families with over 10 million games played. Our mission is to empower every child to build emotional strength.
Why is this role important?
Mightier grows every day, and we are seeking a creative and detail-oriented software engineer to join our growing product and engineering team. In this role, you will help build our product as we shift from a d2c to B2B product, ensuring stability, security, and scalability. You'll do this by joining a small team responsible for the application surrounding our customer's family's journey building a product you'd be proud to have your family and close friends use!
Job description:
  • Work with a small team, where you'll own collaborating with the product team in order to build out complex use cases around our customer management.
  • Work with internal and external resources to accelerate product development
  • Build on a modern AWS stack, architecting scalable cloud infrastructure for B2B workloads in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
  • Boston-based hybrid - 2 days per week in office (Tues/Thurs)

Interview Process:

    1. A coding exercise expected to take 1-2 hours, submitted with a 3-5 minute recorded code walkthrough.
  3. An in-person interview in the Boston area.
    1. Held at our Boston office. We are not able to cover travel expenses, so candidates should be locally available.

Requirements
Relevant experience and qualifications:
  • 2+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
  • Strong engineering judgment to balance rapid delivery with long-term scalability.
  • Ownership mindset with accountability for features in production, including testing, monitoring, alerting, and quickly addressing issues
  • Curiosity and adaptability to learn new technologies and work across our stack - we currently use Typescript, React, and Python/Django.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and propose creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally and bring ideas from concept to delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Boston-based hybrid - 2 days per week in office (Tues/Thurs)
