Job description

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our security division at Valor Protection Security Agency (VPSA). The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the client's business property, staff, and environment by keeping the location secure. VPSA offers security services in various industries including but not limited to Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare, Education, Government, Event Security, and Commercial Property. Accepting this position means you will be employed as a 1099 contractor.
WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas which may include, but are not limited to, areas such as the main building, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Verbally intervenes during crisis. This includes the functional ability to quickly grasp various situations, develop rapport with upset people, and understand when people are or are not processing information, and be supportive or directive as needed.
  • Escorts persons and assists client personnel. Is constantly alert and vigilant for activities which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property.
  • Communicates effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, or client vendors.
  • Comprehends and executes written or verbal instructions. Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports via electronic device.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers, client staff members and other client vendors.
  • Maintains a functional knowledge of a facility and, where applicable, of multiple facilities.
  • Enforces and abides by all policies and guidelines of the client and VPSA.
  • Performs other duties at the direction of the Security Supervisor and/or any other recognized leadership personnel.

Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 1 - 2 years of Security Experience Preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Law Enforcement or Military Background preferred
  • Reliable Transportation/Valid driver's license
  • A will to Protect and Serve.
  • High Level of Professionalism and Tact
  • Excellent Report Writing and Communication Skills
  • Excellent Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Control Skills
  • Excellent Leadership Skills - Comfortable Directing People
  • Have Basic Georgia Unarmed Security Officer Certification or willing to obtain prior to start date
  • Outstanding Time Management and Critical Thinking Skills
  • Proficiency with Computers, aptitude to learn new software and systems
