Job Title: Hotel Chief Engineer
Location: Marriott Autograph Collection - 12 Hotels & Residences, Midtown, Atlanta, GA
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Hotel Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards of 12 Hotels & Residences, a luxury property in the Marriott Autograph Collection. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hotel systems and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls for maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

  • Maintain the property's physical appearance, including touch-up painting, carpentry, lighting, and general upkeep.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs and ensure all equipment operates efficiently.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve building system malfunctions.

  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional manner.

  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance requests, completed work, and inspections.

  • Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors as necessary.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and Marriott standards.

  • Assist with emergency procedures, including fire alarms, power outages, and plumbing leaks.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance preferred.

  • Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

  • Excellent communication skills and a guest-focused attitude.

  • Knowledge of Marriott maintenance protocols a plus (training provided if not experienced).
