Job description

2ND SHIFT - 4PM - MIDNIGHT - MON-FRI
Work location = 2650 Southport Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302

Description: Responsible for operation of robots, cutters and associated equipment to affect the timeliness and quality cutting of blends into blend boxes. This is accomplished by setting the robot discharge rate, cutter belt speed, diverter setups in the plant floor control panel to the most optimum settings for each grade. The operator should be skilled at changing the robot and cutter blades, vibrator pads, unchoking diverters and removing "knots" from all rolls and belts. The operator should be skilled at routine servicing procedures for cutters and robots.


General responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Recommend safety improvements
  • Recommend production improvements
  • Comply with all safety and management programs
  • Be an active participant in work team development
  • Keep workplace clean and orderly
  • Provide on-the-job training as assigned by supervisor for other employees.

General Requirements:

  • Capable of performing tasks including but not limited to working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to read, write and convey ideas.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs with adequate body flexibility
