Job description

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We are seeking a Middleware Team Lead to join our team supporting an ITES task order.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience with Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with middleware platforms including IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or similar.
  • Proficient in configuring and managing Web Services, including SOAP and RESTful services.
  • Familiarity with XML standards, including DTD, XSLT, and related tools such as Xerces and Xalan.
  • Ability to assist developers in debugging using basic knowledge of Java or C#.
  • Experience with UNIX and Windows system administration.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, particularly Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Understanding of scripting and automation using Python and PowerShell.
  • Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
  • Ability to maintain professional communication and collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments. This includes the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civil agencies, and military organizations. Prior experience supporting the same or similar contract, with an in-depth understanding of the customer environment, requirements, and operational landscape, is highly desirable.

  • Secret - IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive Clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the deployment, administration, and maintenance of middleware software supporting customer applications.
  • Architect and engineer mid-tier infrastructure for a mixed environment that includes Linux, UNIX, and Windows systems.
  • Install, configure, and manage application and web servers such as IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, and WebSphere.
  • Manage operating system configurations and mid-tier components to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Schedule and coordinate deployment activities, including new installations and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain security standards across middleware environments to comply with ALTESS and Army requirements.
  • Create and manage proactive monitoring systems and administrative dashboards to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Perform Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and document findings in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Collaborate with development teams to support debugging and middleware integration tasks.
  • Stay up to date with middleware technologies and recommend improvements for system performance, security, and scalability.
