Middle School Math Teacher - Pre-Algebra and Algebra for 7th & 8th Grade
Reports To: Associate Head of School

Salary Range: $57,500 - $72,500

On-Site/In-Person

Our private, independent school in San Diego is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate loves working with middle school children and creates a positive, engaging classroom where students can learn and grow.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach daily lessons that support student learning and development

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment

  • Monitor and assess student progress and share updates with parents

  • Adjust teaching methods to support different learning styles and needs

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership

  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, arrival, and/or dismissal periods each week

  • Coach Physical Education as part of a teaching team

  • Act as an approachable student Advisor and Study Hall proctor, reinforcing SEL and Fundamental Learning Skills

  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities

  • Maintain accurate student records and follow school policies

  • Work with other teachers for integrated units

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required

  • Teaching credential preferred

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching Middle School Math preferred

  • Targeted training in reading and literacy development preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to supporting all students and fostering an inclusive classroom community

  • Fluency in Google Suite products (gmail, calendar, Google Classroom, etc.)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the classroom and school campus during the school day
