Job Title: Middle School Math/Science Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Position Summary: ย
The Math/Science Teacher at Saint Rita Catholic School is responsible for planning, implementing and assessing curriculum and instruction aligned to Catholic values. The Teacher implements an approved curriculum to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills.ย
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Illinois Professional Educator Licensure
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is preferred.
- Understand, embrace, and articulate the mission and vision of St Rita Catholic School.
Salary Range is $32,000 - $38,000; Benefit Summaryย
Requirements
ย Areas of Responsibility:
- Witness the Gospel message and lead students to reflect on a Christian approach to life while building the faith community.ย
- Design, develop, and deliver quality lesson plans and curricula aligned to standards.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction.
- Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum.
- Implement approved mathematics & science curriculum as outlined.ย
- Develop assessments and deliver helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
- Provide extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
- Grade papers, updating records, and handle various administrative tasks.
- Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards.
- Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by and quickly address misbehavior.
- Improve skills and knowledge in teaching.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:ย
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy in the area of math and science
- Knowledge of middle school math and science curricula, concepts, and standards
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and classroom activities
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation about performance and professional growth
- Ability to create an environment where everyone's opinions are respected
