Job Description
Middle School Science Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of Camden's Promise Charter School curriculum and the success of its students. Therefore, Camden's Promise Charter School seeks middle school teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team. We are seeking teachers for the following subject areas:
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHERS
โ€ข Science Teachers implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
โ€ข Science Teachers design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
โ€ข Science Teachers use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
โ€ข Science Teachers participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
โ€ข Science Teachers provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
โ€ข Science Teachers are accountable for students' mastery of academic standards;
โ€ข Science Teachers communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues;
โ€ข Our middle school teachers strive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;
โ€ข Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;
โ€ข Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects; (especially core subjects of English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science and History)
โ€ข Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;
โ€ข Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred; an
โ€ข Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting.
โ€ข By the time that employment begins, candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree from a College or University
