We are currently seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to join our team in our Bristol, TN office.

Responsibilities

The Roadway Engineer will be an integral part of the Bristol, TN office as a member of the Transportation - Highway team. Candidate will be responsible for managing projects commensurate to experience. Individual will be responsible for mentoring and training younger staff, work planning and /production scheduling, growth visioning, managing project budgets, scopes, schedules, and clients. Individual will participate in the planning and design of transportation related projects and must be innovative and adaptive at identifying problems and finding solutions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program, master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia and Tennessee or ability to obtain within six months through comity from another state
  • 11-15 years of progressive experience related to highway engineering including experience with VDOT and TDOT
  • Strong knowledge of TDOT and VDOT Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to mentor staff of all levels, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Excellent communication and business development skills including writing proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and budgets for projected work
  • Demonstrated experience leading transportation contracts in the mid-Atlantic Region of the US
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
