Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist, Chemist, Geologist, or Engineer in our Honolulu, Hawaii office. The successful candidate will support a wide range of environmental projects, including field studies for environmental investigations and compliance, as well as support for construction and redevelopment projects. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects across Hawaii and the Pacific Islands.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and support environmental assessments and investigations involving surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor.
  • Support construction, redevelopment, and engineering projects through environmental oversight and coordination.
  • Perform project management tasks with a strong emphasis on proposal preparation, project planning, document control, and organization.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead field efforts, including environmental sampling and field investigations.
  • Perform data entry, evaluate environmental data, and prepare clear, accurate technical reports.
  • Assist senior staff with preparation of project documents, including work plans, proposals, and investigation or assessment reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and field teams.
  • Mentor and support junior staff.
  • Support permitting efforts and regulatory coordination, as needed.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and document field and analytical results in formal reports.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including experience in Hawaii, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or other Pacific Islands.
  • Experience conducting environmental assessments or investigations of surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in proposal preparation, project planning, and technical writing.
  • Experience performing field data collection, quality control inspections, and formal documentation of results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across varying levels of project staff.
  • Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 15% of the time, with assignments ranging from one day up to two weeks in duration.

Desired Qualifications
  • 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Training.
  • 40-hour EM 385-1-1 Construction Safety Hazard Awareness Training.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management (CQM) Course

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range
$65,000-$110,000 USD
