INDUSTRIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS Position location is Washington DC 3 Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, 1 Sr, and 2 Mid-Level Senior Industrial / Organizational Psychologist (Lead) Role Summary Provides senior level technical leadership and subject matter expertise to support the U.S. Secret Service HR Research & Assessment Division. Leads the design, validation, implementation, and continuous improvement of personnel assessment tools to support high stakes hiring and selection programs

Key Responsibilities Serve as technical authority for job analysis, assessment strategy, and validation activities. Lead development and validation of selection procedures (e.g., structured interviews, SJTs, written tests, work samples). Ensure assessment tools are job related, legally defensible, and compliant with professional standards

Review and approve technical documentation, validation reports, and assessment manuals. Advise senior HR stakeholders on assessment policy, implementation risks, and mitigation strategies. Mentor mid level I/O psychologists and provide quality assurance oversight.

Minimum Qualifications PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related psychology discipline. 8+ years of applied I/O psychology experience, including leading validation studies. Demonstrated experience supporting federal or high consequence personnel assessment programs.

Ability to obtain and maintain required DHS/USSS clearance. Industrial / Organizational Psychologist (Mid Level) Role Summary Provides hands on technical and operational support across the full lifecycle of personnel assessment programs, including development, analysis, implementation, scoring, and quality assurance under the direction of the Senior I/O Psychologist. Key Responsibilities Conduct job analyses and support competency/KSAO development.

Develop assessment content, scoring rubrics, and supporting materials. Perform statistical and psychometric analyses (e.g., reliability, item analysis, validity evidence). Support preparation of technical reports and validation documentation

Administer assessment processes, scoring, and rater calibration activities. Monitor assessment outcomes, including adverse impact and operational metrics. Support continuous improvement, revalidation efforts, and assessment updates.

Minimum Qualifications Master's (or higher) degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field. 3-7 years of applied experience in personnel assessment, testing, or psychometrics. Experience with assessment operations, data analysis, and technical documentation.
