Job description

The Account Representative, Donor Relations position exists to develop relationships and create and implement strategies that result in significant funding support from existing donors. This position will be expected to demonstrate initiative in managing the cultivation of a donor portfolio, including major gifts solicitation, acknowledgement, stewardship, prospect identification, and on-going communication. The Donor Relations Account Representative will be responsible for achieving annual fundraising goals of the team along with retention and prospect identification.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Represents Focus on the Family to donors, foundations, and planned givers. Maintains strong relationships with a portfolio of 800 donors with significant emphasis on personal communication (phone calls, correspondence, email, etc.)
  • Is responsible for increasing retention and average gift size of portfolio through strategic cultivation and stewardship
  • Cultivates relationships with mid-range donors, learning about their personal interests and connecting them with Focus on the Family’s core mission for further engagement; is responsible for identifying and qualifying Major Donor Prospects and transitioning them to a Family Advancement Representative for additional development
  • As a portfolio goal, retains and lifts donor giving through (but not limited to) personal solicitation, acknowledgment, stewardship, relationship building, ongoing communication, etc.
  • Maintains an accurate record of donor communication and service in customer relationship management tool
  • Maintains an in depth understanding of the ministry’s core competencies and programs
  • Participates in departmental meetings, strategic planning, and fundraising discussions within the Family Advancement department
  • Builds relationships, communicates, and connects effectively with both internal and external relationships
  • Fosters and builds relationships with caseload donors at internal events held on the Focus campus.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., printed pieces, photography, voice work, video, music, etc.) for distribution in all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, DVD and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which will be for the benefit of Focus on the Family

  • Office environment
  • Ability to speak, hear, and see clearly; Ability to maneuver multiple computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
  • Fast paced, high stress, frequent changes in process and procedures
  • May be asked to work evenings and Saturdays as needed to increase donor connections
  • Vacation requests will only be granted on a limited basis from December 15 – January 15 to support year end giving – the busiest time of the year

  • 2-4 years of experience in development, sales and/or planned giving, preferred
  • Certifications/Licensing: Proven track record of successful fundraising and experience managing small donor accounts
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and working knowledge of CRM, Microsoft office suite, Donor Management application, and database systems

Stewardship Requirements:

 

  • Nine-member team is responsible for $17 to 18M in revenue

           

Pay Range: $30.02 to $35.95
