About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our core engineering team for a long-term contract engagement. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize robust client- and server-side Java applications, working across distributed systems, performance tuning, and modern user interface frameworks.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional technical and business stakeholders to build scalable software solutions, implement automated testing frameworks, and deliver high-performance applications within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, maintain, and scale client- and server-side applications using Core Java and J2EE technologies.
  • Build and optimize distributed software systems, real-time processing pipelines, and relational database integrations.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies, managing Java Garbage Collection, multi-threading, and system concurrency.
  • Develop robust application programming interfaces (APIs) and reusable architectural frameworks adhering to solid design patterns (GoF) and data structures.
  • Integrate rich user interface components and frameworks (such as AngularJS, jQuery, HTML5, Swing, or JavaFX) into application workflows.
  • Write clean, maintainable code leveraging application development frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, or JSF.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, test-driven development (TDD), and automated build/deployment pipelines using modern CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven, Gradle, Ant).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications across Unix/Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional hands-on development experience with Core Java and J2EE (spanning both client- and server-side development).
  • Technical & Engineering Foundations:
    • Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (OOA/OOD), data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
    • Experience with relational databases, distributed systems, and messaging architectures.
    • Familiarity with concurrency, multi-threading, scaling, and Java performance optimization/garbage collection.
  • Development Stacks & Tools:
    • Application frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JSF, or equivalent).
    • UI frameworks/APIs (AngularJS, jQuery, HTML5, Swing, JavaFX, or similar).
    • Build, test, and deployment automation tools (Ant, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity, JUnit).
    • Cross-platform operating system experience (Unix/Linux, Windows, macOS).
  • Methodologies: Proven experience working in Agile environments utilizing test-driven development (TDD) practices.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
