Job description

Mid-Level Flight Simulator Hardware Configuration Engineer

Company:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a Mid-level Flight Simulator Hardware Configuration Engineer to join the Training and Simulation Digital Services (T&SDS) Engineering team to support and manage the hardware configuration and deliverables for Boeing Simulator Packages (BSP), based out of Seattle, WA.

This role acts as the focal for flight deck hardware kit configuration and cabin/door training packages, ensuring accurate configuration data, responding to customer inquiries, and supporting process definition and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain flight deck part lists for parts provided in the Boeing Simulator Package (BSP) Hardware Kit

  • Define and maintain Cabin and Door Training Packages, including package requirements, contents, and documentation

  • Support customer hardware configuration inquiries, providing timely, accurate configuration guidance and technical clarification

  • Track flight deck updates and hardware part revisions, update Hardware Kits as needed, notify stakeholders, and record revised kit configurations in PDM

  • Serve as a focal for Simulator Hardware Kit Configuration and Simulator Cabin and Door Training Packages applying configuration processes & best practices

  • Maintain configuration documentation, bill of materials (BOM), flight deck 3D models and hardware kits change-control records in PDM/ENOVIA systems

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support to resolve configuration issues and implement updates

  • Participate in configuration reviews, design reviews, and customer-facing technical briefings as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 3+ years of experience supporting technical projects and managing technical data content and configuration

  • 1+ years of experience supporting configuration management, including change control and part roll impact assessment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skilled in preparing clear technical documentation with excellent written and verbal communication

  • Experience conducting design reviews, Technical Review Board or change board meetings

  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings (schematics, assembly, detail) and respond to customer configuration inquiries

  • Demonstrated experience defining and maintaining parts lists, BOMs, and kit contents for complex hardware systems

  • Hands-on experience using REDARS, IVT, ENOVIA, PDM and CATIA Part & Assembly Design workbenches

  • Experience with flight simulators, aircraft interiors, doors/systems, or avionics hardware

  • Familiarity with supplier management and procurement impacts on hardware kits
