Perform splicing for large count cables, micro-cables, butt splices, and mid-sheath/express cable entry. Installation of Fiber Termination Equipment:Install fiber termination panels. Install fiber terminals in an environmental cabinet or underground vault. Test and Troubleshooting:Test cables using optical test equipment (OTDR, power meter, fiber identifier, and fiber score). Document, troubleshoot, and repair fiber. Fiber Optic Cable Installation:Bond and ground cables per current specifications. Use and understand fiber optic color code. Splice fiber using mechanical and fusion methods. Locate and repair fiber optic cable faults without causing signal failure interruptions. Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for cable network. Confirm accurate cable terminations at fiber termination panels.)Maintain project documentation (production sheets, time sheets, fiber splicing redlines.Utilize Mapcom M4, Bluebeam, Visio Professional, and other software to plan and document fiber splicing activities. Position requirements:Fiber Splicer I:Two (2) years of fiber splicing experience is required.Vocational school training or apprenticeship is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A valid driver's license is required. Fiber Splicer II:Two (2) to four (4) years of fiber splicing experience is required. Vocational school training or apprenticeship is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A valid driver's license is required.
