This is a fast-paced position in which the engineer will work with multiple simultaneous project teams for onshore and offshore facilities. The electrical engineer is expected to have a functional working knowledge of common industry standards and be able to independently complete tasks which meet the needs of the customer specifications, scope of work, and safety regulations in coordination with the project teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Independently perform common electrical engineering design tasks, and analysis for low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including grounding & lightning protection systems, area classification, lighting & small power systems, cable sizing, raceway design, cable routing, equipment layout, and Bill of Materials.
  • Utilize ETAP to perform wide range of power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, arc flash hazard analysis, protective device coordination, ground system (step and touch potential) analysis, underground cable ampacity/thermal studies, and renewable energy projects AC/DC loss evaluations.
  • Perform design checks and provide mentorship to other electrical engineers.
  • Develop & support cost estimates, equipment budgets, and engineering deliverables for a variety of projects, including renewable energy, power generation, midstream, and downstream energy and chemical facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design & engineering, preferably in mid-to-large-scale EPC projects.
  • Arc flash and/or protective device coordination experience using SKM, ETAP, or other similar software is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems, including solar power system design, plant layout and Battery Energy Storage System( BESS) is highly preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in developing electrical load lists, MV and LV one-line diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable schedule.
  • Experience with Electrical Buildings/Power Control Room, Dry type and Liquid Filled Transformers, VFDs, Soft Starters, MV & LV Switchgear & MCCs, UPS, Battery & Chargers etc.
  • Experience with specifications, data sheets, Request for Quote/Purchase, Technical Bid Evaluation, and Vendor Data Review & Approval.
  • Must have high proficiency with common Office computer software, including PDF markup tools.
  • Must have a functional working knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, NEMA, OSHA and other relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
