Mid Level Conservation Pilot information

What is a mid level conservation pilot?

Mid Level Conservation Pilots are professional pilots who operate aircraft for organizations focused on environmental conservation. They typically perform tasks such as wildlife monitoring, aerial surveys, anti-poaching patrols, and transporting personnel or supplies to remote locations. These pilots usually have several years of aviation experience and specialized training in conservation operations. Their work is crucial for supporting conservation efforts, collecting data, and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of environmental initiatives.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a mid level conservation pilot?

To thrive as a Mid Level Conservation Pilot, you need a commercial pilot’s license, strong flight experience (often 500+ hours), and knowledge of environmental regulations and wildlife management. Familiarity with GPS navigation, aerial survey equipment, and specialized aircraft systems is typically required. Strong decision-making, situational awareness, and effective communication skills help coordinate with ground teams and adapt to changing field conditions. These competencies ensure safe flight operations and accurate data collection, which are crucial for supporting conservation efforts.

What challenges do mid level conservation pilots face during field operations?

Mid-level conservation pilots often encounter challenges such as navigating remote or rugged terrain, adapting to variable weather conditions, and coordinating with ground teams to ensure mission objectives are met safely and efficiently. They must also stay vigilant for unexpected obstacles like wildlife or rapidly changing environmental factors. Successful pilots excel at communication, situational awareness, and adaptability, which are essential for managing the dynamic nature of conservation missions and supporting effective collaboration with biologists, researchers, and other stakeholders.

GadellNet is looking for an AI Process Consultant(APC). The APC willembed directly insideclientbusinesses, uncoveringthe operational friction that holds them back, designingthe workflows that will replace it, and partneringwithAI Engineersto ship solutions that change how these organizationsactually run. Youwon'tbe writing slide decks that get filed away;you'llbe on-site at small and mid-size businesses interviewing operators, mapping processes, building the business case, and owning client outcomes from first conversation through post-deployment adoption.

  • Build the business case for each engagement: quantify the cost of the status quo, model expected ROI, and prioritize a sequenced roadmap of automation opportunities the client can act on
  • Design future-state workflows in detail:process diagrams, decision logic, exception handling, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and integration touchpoints, allto a level of specificity engineering can build against
  • Partner withan AI Engineerthroughout the build, translating client requirements into technical specs, validatingoutputs against business intent, and brokering trade-offs (quality vs. speed vs. cost vs. risk) in plain language

  • Own the client relationship end-to-end: scope, expectations, status updates, escalations, and executive readouts. Serve as the single point of accountability for client outcomes
  • Run post-deployment business reviews to measure realized impact, surface follow-on opportunities, and build the case for portfolio expansion
  • Contribute internally by codifying reusable discovery frameworks, ROI models, workflow templates, and industry playbooks that scale across the practice

  • Problem-solver who gets energy from sitting across the desk from a real operator and figuring out where the frictionactually is

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior consulting experience at a top firm (MBB, Big 4 Strategy, Deloitte, Accenture, or boutique strategy/operations firm) or a deployment-strategy / forward-deployed role at a software company
  • Experience leading process re-engineering, workflow automation, or digital transformation engagements end-to-end
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n) or major SaaS systems (CRMs, ERPs, ticketing, document management) at the level of "I can spec an integration without help"
