Job description

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through its County Attorney's Office, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant County Attorney - Civil Litigation. This position is open to qualified mid-level and senior civil litigators.
The selected attorney will represent Palm Beach County in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including complex litigation, and provide legal advice and strategic litigation counsel to County departments and elected officials.
Minimum Qualifications :
Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar (required)
- Excellent academic credentials
- Demonstrated ability to handle civil litigation matters with professionalism and sound judgment
Experience Levels Considered :
Mid-Level Candidates
Generally 3 -7 years of civil litigation experience
- Experience handling pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, and client communications
- Ability to manage assigned matters with appropriate supervision and work collaboratively
Senior Candidates
- Generally 7+ years of civil litigation experience, including substantial case-management responsibility
- Experience independently managing complex litigation matters
- Ability to provide strategic guidance and mentor junior attorneys as appropriate
Preference Given To :
Civil litigation involving governmental entities or practice in local government, complex, or commercial litigation. Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and oral presentation skills. Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and diligent work ethic.
