Job description

Grand County Agency Relations Associate

The Grand County Agency Relations Associate is responsible for building and strengthening grocery rescue partnerships, food distribution coordination, and increasing the availability of fresh and nutritious food throughout the service region. This position works closely with grocery stores, partner agencies, and community organizations to increase access to nutritious food for individuals and families across Carbon, Emery, and Grand county.

Wage: $20.00 / hour - This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with a projected term of two years.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain partnerships with local grocery stores, businesses, retailers, restaurants, and community organizations to expand food rescue and fresh food.
  • Coordinate regular grocery rescue pickups and ensure safe food handling and transportation practices.
  • Track and submit daily poundage reports through MealConnect.
  • Identify opportunities to increase fresh food access, and reduce food waste throughout our region.
  • Coordinate monthly food deliveries for homebound individuals.
  • Coordinate and transport food inventory between the Carbon, Emery, Green River, and Grand Food Banks.
  • Ensure all food handling and storage practices comply with safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and support equitable distribution of food resources between the Carbon, Emery, Green River and Grand Food Banks.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist food bank clients with the check in process ensuring client files contain required information.
  • Provide case management and referrals to food bank clients.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all communications.
  • Enter client data into CAP60 database including client demographics, income, food bank attendance, and all client services and outcomes.
  • Maintain food bank attendance, and home delivery records.

Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed in the food bank warehouse for all staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure the food bank warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and trash is removed daily.
  • Ensure refrigerators and freezers are cleaned weekly and maintained according to food safety standards.
  • Assist with maintaining the exterior food bank property, including removal of debris, garbage, and weeds.

Physical Requirement

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, loading, and unloading food items.

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) Skilled in data entry.
  • Must obtain a Food Handler Permit.
  • Valid UTAH driver's license and clean driving record required.
