Position summary
Sikich is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant. This role is contingent upon award of contract.
What will you do in this role?
  • Provide financial, fixed assets, and other accounting support
  • Perform analyses pertaining to various commercial and Federal accounting technical topics
  • Research new standards, determine impact on client, and support implementation of new processes, as needed
  • Provide periodic reviews and recommend updates to client's financial policy manual
  • Perform accounting best practices research and whitepaper recommendations to client management
  • Provide recommendations, scope, and detail work plan for client's annual fixed asset physical inventory process
  • Conduct best practices research and provide recommendations for the tracking of client's accountable equipment
  • Provide recommendations and accounting support for partial capital project in-service activations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and communicate resolutions to the leadership team, as needed.

What do you need to succeed in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Major in accounting or other related field.
  • On-site in Alexandria, VA
  • At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience. Federal experience strongly preferred.
  • Federal employee or federal contractor experience preferred
  • CPA, CGFM, or PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and software application skills
  • Knowledge of federal financial processes, systems, and internal controls preferred

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $101,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
