The Mid-Cities Animal Urgent Careโ€™s Veterinary Technician is primarily responsible for the care of our animal patients. A successful candidate can direct, prioritize, and manage multiple patients simultaneously. Soft skills include working with clients, patients, veterinarians, client experience specialists, and the managing partner.


Aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and flexible environment are preferred. Employees who are detail-oriented with a strong dedication to safety and patient care will meet with success. All candidates must be able to clear initial and random background checks, medical, and drug screenings.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The qualified animal care specialist will successfully perform the following functions:

  • Administering prescribed treatments.
  • Running in-house lab samples.
  • Performing radiographs.
  • Drawing blood from all standard venous access points.
  • Placing IV catheters.
  • Inducing and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Inputting notes and charges into the practice management system.
  • Keeping the clinic in a clean and orderly state.
  • Cross-trained in basic client experience responsibilities.
  • Strong computer skills preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and various company software programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE:

Job Types: Full-time

  • Day Shift
  • Night Shift (Preferred)
  • Ability to work closing shifts, weekends, and holidays (Preferred)
Requirements:

 WORKING CONDITIONSThe successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Work and adhere to a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free workplace.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to sit, stand, move over uneven terrain, climb stairs.
  • Able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time and through the majority of an assigned work shift.
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability and willingness to work weekends or holidays if assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received or learned while working at Mid-Cities Animal Urgent Care.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance requirements.

EDUCATION: A High School diploma is required. College degree or 2-year technical degree preferred.
