In a Microsoft Licensing position, you'll regularly evaluate clients' software needs, recommend optimal licensing options, and ensure organizations remain compliant with Microsoft’s licensing terms. Your day may involve preparing quotes, managing renewals, maintaining detailed license records, and coordinating with internal teams such as sales, procurement, and IT. You will also interpret policy updates from Microsoft, provide clarification to clients or stakeholders, and help resolve any licensing disputes. Professionals in this role ensure compliance, optimize license usage, and help reduce costs by selecting the most suitable licensing models.
