Job description

Pinpoint Laser Systems is seeking a talented, self‑motivated, and creative software engineer to join our team to develop new products and customer applications. We are looking for a full‑time candidate who will help strengthen our product development team and take a lead on customer design projects while applying superior technical skills in a dynamic team environment.

Pinpoint Laser Systems, is a growing manufacturer of laser based, high precision, industrial alignment and measuring products that are in use throughout many industries. Our line of innovative products is constantly expanding, and new products are always on the horizon. We want to expand our line of custom Microgage firmware and software so customers can broaden their measuring and alignment application projects.

Our family of customers includes aircraft manufacturers, medical equipment producers, plastic and film producers, machine shops, shipbuilders, paper and steel mills, electronic component manufacturers, and many others. Our team is expanding as we grow into new markets with innovative laser measuring products.

The Position Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant on the job experience in software engineering and hands on experience in an industrial company.
  • Must be proficient with software architecture.
  • Familiar with embedded devices: STM32CubeIDE & Toradex Colibri iMX7 modules
  • Comfortable programming with C++ and building applications for Microsoft Windows platform.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Embedded compact 2013.
  • Experience working with Silicon Labs IDE, Microchip MPLAB X IDE
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces, Atmel devices, and data acquisition.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and single-board computers.
  • Ability to independently create engineering solutions.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, good communicator.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers and developing measuring solutions and designs.
  • Innovative & creative participation with product development and manufacturing teams.
  • Experience with electronics, circuit board testing and optics a plus.
