The Work
 
The Senior CRM & AI Solutions Developer is a hands-on engineering role accountable for the build and delivery of CRM and low-code solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform within Equitable Bank's Commercial Lending Technology team, with a growing focus on AI-enabled capabilities such as Microsoft Copilot Studio agents and workflow automation. The role understands the business and its challenges, functionally outlines solutions to identified use cases, and designs and develops applications using Power Platform and Dynamics 365, working within a cross-functional Pod alongside Business Analysts, Delivery Leads, Product Owners, QA and external suppliers to deliver cohesive solutions that meet the intended business value while introducing no additional risk to projects. 
The Core Responsibilities!
  • Design, develop, test and support applications using Microsoft Power Platform components - Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI and Copilot Studio - along with Dataverse and SharePoint Online. 

  • Build and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM (Sales and Customer Service) solutions, including customizations, configurations, workflows, plugins, business rules and security roles. 

  • Design and deliver AI-enabled solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, including conversational agents, prompt design, knowledge grounding and integration with Dataverse and enterprise data sources. 

  • Assess suitability of solutions across Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, applying an in-depth understanding of customization, configuration, security, integration, extensibility, boundaries and constraints. 

  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports and optimize underlying data models for performance and scalability. 

  • Create custom connectors and integrate with external systems and APIs; extend Power Platform capabilities using Azure Functions and Logic Apps where required. 

  • Follow best practices for building, packaging and deploying Power Platform components through ALM pipelines (managed solutions, non-prod and prod pipelines, DevOps). 

  • Collaborate with QA to define test strategies, scenarios and user validation, and provide post-deployment support and troubleshooting. 

  • Stay current on Microsoft Power Platform and AI capabilities (Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI) and provide actionable recommendations to business units. 

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, story-point estimation, and clear communication of changes to delivery leads, project managers and stakeholders.

Key requirements - Power Platform expertise is essential: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 

  • Minimum 5 years delivering technology projects in a hands-on technical role, participating in full-lifecycle implementations. 

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience across the Microsoft Power Platform - Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate, Power Pages and Power BI. 

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Sales and Customer Service), including workflows, actions, customizations, configurations, security roles and scripting. 

  • Solid understanding of the Dataverse security model (role levels, record ownership), data connectors, limits and the Power Platform licensing model. 

  • Experience with solution ALM - managed solutions, environment strategy, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub). 

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, JSON, HTML/CSS and REST API integration. 

  • Solid understanding of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and fluency in English. 

  • Legally able to work in Canada. 

Preferred / strong assets - AI skills are highly desirable: 

  • Hands-on experience building agents and automations in Microsoft Copilot Studio (topics, actions, generative answers, knowledge sources). 

  • Experience with AI / GenAI concepts - prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge grounding, and awareness of model limitations such as hallucination and context constraints. 

  • Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI services and AI Builder. 

  • Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data protection, human-in-the-loop safeguards and governance in a regulated environment. 

  • Experience developing plugins and custom workflows, custom connectors, virtual tables and Power Pages. 

  • Experience with data migration tools such as XrmToolBox and KingswaySoft. 

  • Experience with SQL and integrating custom / banking data sources.
