Job Type: Mon-Fri schedule

Job Summary:

The LIS & Integrations Analyst will drive connectivity solutions and interfaces between Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Lab Information Systems (LIS) in addition to handling initial communication with vendors and the customers. The LIS & Integrations Analyst will also steer the planning, design, testing, documentation, and implementation of order and result transmissions from our LIS systems to and from various EMR/EHR platforms to ensure smooth transitions for new projects.

The individual is expected to be a motivated and committed healthcare IT professional with demonstrable organizational and decision-making skills which would be key for the role of LIS & Integrations. The individual is expected to have a professional phone etiquette to answer client calls to educate, resolve issues, and/or communicate required information to clients while maintaining high levels of satisfaction. A positive attitude is a must in this fast paced, deadline driven Pathology Laboratory environment.

Essential Job Duties Tier II:

  • Collaborate with integration teams, lab partners, and EMR vendors on the design, development, and delivery of technical integration solutions.
  • Serve as primary contact for client, EMR vendor, and internal project calls as needed.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors to clarify messaging format requirements and create test plans to support interface testing.
  • Assist internal lab team members with troubleshooting technical issues related to user interface interactions, message transformations, and workflow analysis.
  • Provide ongoing end-user support for LIS end users, including upgrades, new releases, and workflow adjustments.

  • Document processes for future reference, training, and support.

  • Report any compliance issues and escalate, as necessary.

  • Maintain communication with end users regarding system changes, new functionality, and downtime procedures.

  • Build and maintain relationships with departments like Quality Management, Revenue Cycle, and Finance to support business goals.

  • Conduct analysis on workflows, data collection, and technical issues in clinical information systems.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, escalating complex problems as required to the appropriate support team.
  • Review and validate configuration tasks for quality and minimal QA adjustments.
  • Complete basic process and requirements analysis, including flow charts, documentation, and gap analysis to support problem-solving.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Provides effective customer service by being courteous, polite, and friendly at all times.

Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of clinical/technical application experience (Health Informatics or Interface Informatics concentration preferred).
  • Experience with healthcare systems integration (EMRs, LIS, third-party vendors).
  • Knowledge of healthcare integration messaging and HL7 data formats.
  • 2+ years of experience with HL7 v2, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and DFT messaging.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships across the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and HIPAA requirements.
