Orbus Visual Communications® is North America’s largest producer and manufacturer of visual communications products and solutions for workplace interiors, retail environments, tradeshows and events. We help our customers communicate visually and build their brands. Brands within the Orbus Visual Communications group include The Exhibitors' Handbook®, The Promo Handbook™, Nimlok®, Fabric Images®, SEG Systems & Services®, and SignPro Systems®.

If you want to have a hands-on highly impactful role, we want you to join our team as an ERP Developer. This is a full-time position based in in our office in Woodridge, IL located just outside of Chicago.

Primary Function:

The ERP Developer will be responsible for the administration, analysis, development and user support for Microsoft’s Business Central. This techno-functional role will work with all levels of management and process owners (Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Production, Shipping, Graphics & Marketing) to manage strategic and operational aspects of Business Central with a focus on system administration & configuration, development, and technical issue resolution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead solution design, development, configuration and testing for enhancements, optimizations, automations and new functionality as it relates to Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP) and other Microsoft ecosystem integrated applications (Dynamics 365 CRM, Azure, Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Detail the necessary configuration of D365 BC solutions, leveraging platform capabilities to address unique business needs while minimizing reliance on custom code.
  • Manage the configuration and setup of third-party ERP-related solutions – Insight Works (Dynamic Ship, Shop Floor, Order Fulfilment), EasyPost, UPS/FedEx, Avalara, VersaPay.)
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and document all solution architecture design work.
  • Support business functional leads, Process Specialist and Applications & Integrations Lead in maintaining the integrations between BC and CRM, BC and Graphics ERP (LIFT) and BC and E-Comm.
  • Ensure seamless integration, best-in-class performance, and efficient data flow across systems.
  • Partner with third party BC developers to understand our customizations and own them.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance system functionality and user experience.
  • Assist the business with validating results through testing including integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date design and technical documentation.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving level 1 and level 2 support in a timely manner via IT help-desk system.
  • Work with end users to provide best practices and tips on ERP usage including training, when required.
  • Perform and own periodic test and production environment refreshes and other data refresh activities.
  • Design and generate reports that support better decision-making cross-functionally.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a developer for Microsoft Business Central v.24.0 or higher.
  • MB-820 Business Central Developer Certification.
  • MB-800 Business Central Functional Consultant Certification, a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with database query language (eg. MS SQL), and reporting / automation tools (Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Demonstrated full-life cycle Business Central implementation experience, a plus.

Physical Requirements of the Job

  • Office environment; must be able to perform frequent repetitive tasks, and be able to sit or stand at and operate a computer for up to 80% of the day.
  • Cognitive skills such as thinking, reasoning, understanding, learning and remembering are required 100 % of the day.
