Summary:

The Microsoft 365 Collaboration Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role ensures a secure, scalable, and highly available collaboration platform that supports voice, video, messaging, and integration with enterprise applications. 

The engineer partners with infrastructure, security, networking, and automation teams to deliver a seamless Teams experience aligned with organizational governance, compliance, and business objectives. This includes supporting enterprise collaboration, meeting solutions, app integrations, and lifecycle management across hybrid and cloud environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Platform Engineering & Administration 

  • Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Teams environments in Microsoft 365. 
  • Administer Teams policies (messaging, meetings, voice, app setup, compliance). 
  • Manage Teams lifecycle (provisioning, classification, expiration, and archiving). 
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and user experience across Teams workloads. 
  • Support eDiscovery, legal hold, and auditing requirements. 
  • Align Teams configurations with enterprise regulatory and risk frameworks. 

Integration & Automation 

  • Integrate Teams with third-party applications and internal systems. 
  • Support Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) integrations with Teams. 
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, and scripting. 
  • Support bots, connectors, and custom Teams app deployments. 

Monitoring & Support 

  • Monitor service health, usage metrics, and adoption trends. 
  • Troubleshoot incidents and service disruptions across Teams workloads. 
  • Partner with service desk and incident management teams for escalation handling. 
  • Document solutions, processes, and operational runbooks. 

Continuous Improvement & Adoption 

  • Drive Teams adoption and best practices across the organization. 
  • Identify opportunities for feature enhancements and platform optimization. 
  • Stay current on Microsoft 365 roadmap and emerging Teams capabilities. 
  • Provide guidance and training to technical teams and end users. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 or collaboration platform engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 architecture. 
  • Enterprise experience with Exchange Online, Azure AD (Entra ID), SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. 
  • Hands-on experience with Teams policies and governance.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on governance and operational excellence. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation. 
  • Understanding of identity and access management, including SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access. 
  • Knowledge of basic networking fundamentals (QoS, DNS, firewalls, latency, bandwidth planning). 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and automation frameworks. 
  • Familiarity with Power BI dashboards for Teams usage, licensing and reporting. 
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Teams or Unified Communications deployments. 
  • Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, etc.) is a plus.

  • Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700) 
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)

Compensation Range:

$70,000 - $140,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
