Working onsite at Microsoft Data Center
A Data Center Technician you will handle hardware installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within a data center environment. This includes tasks like rack and stack equipment, cable management, hardware diagnostics, and minor repairs. You may also assist in larger projects and document procedures.
Core Duties:
Hardware Installation and Decommissioning:
This includes physically installing, configuring, and decommissioning servers, network devices, and other data center equipment.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnosing and resolving hardware and networking issues, performing component-level repairs, and potentially handling basic software issues.
Rack and Stack:
Mounting, connecting, and configuring racks, ensuring correct cabling and power connections.
Cable Management:
Installing, labeling, and troubleshooting fiber, copper, and other cabling infrastructure.
Documentation:
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Inventory:
Managing inventory of hardware components, ordering replacements, and handling returns.
