Job Description:
About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the Office of Information Technology (OIT) for a government client in Tallahassee, FL.

In this role, you will play a key part in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms that support infrastructure, applications, data, and business operations. You will work across Microsoft 365, identity platforms, and a multi-cloud environment (AWS required, Azure highly desired).

What You’ll Do:
  • Support, expand, and administer the customer’s infrastructure and server environment.
  • Perform daily operations support, maintenance, and administration of Windows Servers (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Manage and troubleshoot IIS, network communications (TCP/IP, DNS), Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
  • Oversee and manage Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoft platforms.
  • Design, implement, and support cloud solutions in AWS (required) and Microsoft Azure (highly desired)
  • Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, Git repositories, and pipelines.
  • Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
  • Perform systems monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple internal and external parties.
  • Recommend future server and software upgrades.
  • Support developers and other IT staff.
  • Document and automate administrative tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Own medium-to-high complexity issues and provide reliable operational support.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of IT experience in infrastructure/network environments (systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration).
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • 2–3 years of IIS Administration.
  • 2–3 years of network communications experience (TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS permissions).
  • 2–3 years of strong professional experience with AWS cloud systems (Required).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple technology platforms.
  • Ability to document and automate administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2–3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with other cloud providers (GCP).
  • Experience administering Microsoft software platforms.
  • Experience supporting middleware (API Management, IT Service Automation tools, batch job services).
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu), including patching.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (projects, repos, pipelines, organizational settings).
