Job description

Job Title: Senior Firmware EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to support the development of next-generation embedded systems and products. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in firmware development, RTOS environments, bare-metal microprocessor programming, and modern C++ development. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for both existing and new product platforms. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded technologies while influencing the architecture and direction of future products. Engineers who actively pursue embedded systems, electronics, robotics, maker projects, or firmware development as a hobby are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for microprocessor-based systems.
  • Develop software in C++ for new product development efforts.
  • Support and maintain existing firmware platforms written in C.
  • Create firmware solutions utilizing Zephyr OS, RTOS environments, and bare-metal architectures.
  • Develop low-level drivers, hardware interfaces, and board support packages.
  • Interface closely with hardware, electrical, systems, and test engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in firmware architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex embedded hardware/software integration issues.
  • Optimize firmware performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and hardware validation activities.
  • Support product bring-up, debugging, and deployment activities.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++, with an emphasis on modern C++ development.
  • Experience developing firmware in Zephyr OS or other real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Strong understanding of bare-metal microcontroller and microprocessor development.
  • Experience developing low-level embedded software, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.
  • Experience using debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded system architecture and real-time system design.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Experience developing firmware for connected devices, sensors, communications systems, or industrial products.
  • Familiarity with embedded networking protocols and communication interfaces.
