Job description
The Micron Processor is responsible for safely producing super-abrasive and related products by operating specialized manufacturing equipment and following established safety, quality, and production standards. This role performs production, inspection, chemical processing, equipment setup, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting activities while supporting Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and a clean, organized work environment. The role also collaborates with team members to maintain product quality, resolve production issues, and promote safe operating practices through training and adherence to documented procedures.
- Participate in team initiatives to identify and resolve safety issues.
- Participation in developing LEAN solutions throughout manufacturing.
- Independent, safe, responsible operation of all the equipment necessary to produce super-abrasives and related products within specified work assignment:

- Operate grading units, microwaves, tumblers, ultrasonic sieving units, and automated bottling equipment.
- Operate chemical processing equipment and handle hazardous chemicals.
- Perform hand processing of product, blends, sieved material, bottling and other as required.
- Operate and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, scales, microscopes, go/no go gauges, and visual standards.
- Perform minor setup and troubleshooting on production equipment. Assist area experts in completing higher difficulty setup, changeovers and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including equipment cleanliness, and other as necessary.
- Complete ownership for housekeeping in assigned work area.
- Perform training of others with respect to the safe and responsible operation of assigned manufacturing equipment mentioned above.
- Adhere to documented work instructions: OPS, OMS, JSA, assembly prints, and other as needed.
- Assure product and process quality measures are maintained. Communicate quality concerns to relevant technical support personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities targeted to eliminate waste: time, material, etc.

- High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Demonstrated interpersonal /communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use production management tools including LEAN, material management systems, and maintenance of accurate throughput and quality records.
- Relevant experience operating industrial or military mechanical equipment.
- Manual dexterity required to accurately handle and position parts.
- Walking and standing on the shop floor for extended periods throughout the day.
- Lifting and transport of materials (20-40 lbs.).
- Ability to comprehend and apply training to operate manufacturing production equipment listed above.
- Ability to effectively balance priorities and multiple tasks to achieve overall production goals.
- Must be available to work overtime during periods of high order volume.
