What you'll do...
As a Commissioning Technician (Electrical), you'll play a crucial role in the commissioning process, specializing in troubleshooting electrical-related issues. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Performing controls wiring terminations within Automatic Paralleling Switchgear, Control Panels, and Generator Units.
  • Conducting inspections and operational testing for both Low Voltage and Medium Voltage systems.
  • Supporting the cutover of electrical distribution to deliver power to customers via ERock switchgear equipment.
  • Collaborating on protection relay testing with third-party testers under remote supervision.
  • Supporting initial testing, start-up, and paralleling of 480V natural gas generators.
  • Serving as the primary contact for system control and electrical equipment operability.
  • Commissioning microgrids and conducting operational testing.
  • Meticulously documenting all commissioning activities using operational software to ensure accurate system operation records.

You'll make an Impact by:
Working closely with the Commissioning Lead, you will be instrumental in maintaining the high reliability of microgrid generation systems. This role involves collaboration with various ERock business units, including Ops and Management, to develop and sustain operational plans from site construction through equipment lifecycle. You'll also liaise with the Microgrid Control Center to ensure ERock meets customer demands for on-demand electricity.
Requirements
You'll sweep us off our feet if you:
  • Demonstrate profound knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems design.
  • Possess mechanical systems experience.
  • Have Technical hands-on Experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Have hands-on experience with PLC systems (Deep Sea Electronics and AcSELerator).
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

What you'll need:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in generator theory, AC/DC circuit theory, protection relays, and electrical troubleshooting practices.
  • Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical schematics.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve objectives with minimal direct supervision.
  • Effective time management to ensure timely project completion.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently with remote oversight/support, meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and contributing to root cause analysis.
  • Proactive in suggesting and implementing procedures for efficient task execution.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point).
  • Willingness to travel during the week or, in unique cases, for extended periods.
