Job description

This position is for the Chief Engineer Manager - Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies (CSET) in the SP AP program area. The role reports to the SP AP Chief Engineer and leads a high impact, cross functional team delivering affordable, secure, future ready solutions in advanced cyber, electromagnetic (EM) warfare, 5G/6G radio frequency (RF), and micro electronics. The successful candidate will work closely with the entire Advanced Programs staff to ensure synergy across teams and to lead/participate in lessons learned communication
What You Will Be Doing
Provide technical leadership for the CSET portfolio, setting direction, priorities, and performance targets.
Drive the capture and white paper process, translating emerging technology opportunities into competitive proposals that satisfy RFP requirements.
Own technical risk management, trade off analysis, and affordability metrics, establishing mitigation plans and continuous improvement indicators.
Mentor talent and foster high performance culture, ensuring professional growth and succession across the CSET team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross functional engineering teams through all lifecycle phases (concept, design, integration, test, fielding, sustainment) to deliver cyber, EM warfare, 5G/6G RF, and microelectronics solutions on schedule and within budget.
Drive technical execution and development, turning emerging technology opportunities into RFP compliant proposals.
Lead or support customer briefings, weekly IPT status updates, Technical Interchange Meetings, Technical Readiness Reviews, and other critical program reviews.
Participate in (or lead, as appropriate) Failure Review Boards, Risk Management reviews, and Mission Success Reviews.
Support technical reviews internally, with the customer, external stakeholders, and at supplier locations.
Serve as the technical point of contact (POC) for CSET in customer and stakeholder reviews.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must:
Deliver integrated hardware, algorithm, and software solutions on time and within budget, orchestrating rigorous reviews, risk focused trade studies, and clear communication with customers, suppliers, partners, and senior leadership.
Demonstrate strong influence and communication across capture, program management, and technical stakeholders, driving execution while balancing competing priorities.
Balance affordability, technical performance, and schedule requirements, understanding trade offs and risks of complex engineering projects.
Plan and lead technical solutions from proposal through all development phases, including SRR, PDR, CDR, Qualification, System Verification & Test (SV&T), FCA, and transition to production.
Show a strong understanding of Full Spectrum Leadership principles (technical, people, business, strategic).
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
