We are seeking to hire talented and creative engineering / physical sciences students with a focus on microelectronics processing to support several different advanced research and development projects of national significance. Qualified candidates will join a team of technical experts in microelectronics security, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to advance the state-of-the-art in embedded systems security. Our diverse set of sponsors and research objectives provide a wide variety of interesting work opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of new approaches and countermeasures for emerging physical threats to embedded systems
  • Perform hands-on security assessments of embedded systems
  • De-process microelectronics chips and printed circuit boards, applying standard procedures as well as developing innovative chemical and physical processes
  • Conduct experiments with state-of-the-art semiconductor lab equipment

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Experience with lab equipment, such as wet chemistry, vacuum equipment, microscopy, mechanical tools, and CNC equipment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Experience with de-processing of microelectronics chips and printed circuit boards
  • Experience with semiconductor lab equipment, such as wet chemistry, reactive ion etchers, micro/nanofabrication tools, failure analysis tools, precision milling and polishing stations, optical microscopy, IR microscopy, scanning electron microscopy

Salary compensation range and midpoint: $46,500 - $58,000 - $69,500 Annual
