VIZIA Diagnostics is a stand-alone, surgical pathology laboratory serving clients nationwide. Our team is focused on delivering best-in-class service excellence in diagnostic patient care. 

We are a subspecialty model dedicated to the practice of gastrointestinal pathology with GI subspecialty-trained and experienced pathologists and histotechnicians focused exclusively on GI specimens to ensure the highest level of quality. VIZIA is a growing company with potential advancement into other surgical pathology specialties, including a more robust genitourinary practice.

In 2023, VIZIA was formed through an acquisition from Boston Scientific Corporation. With more than 30 years of operational expertise and advancements in diagnostic services, we are proud of what we have accomplished, but we are even more excited about what we will achieve together.

Position Summary:

Supports testing of a variety of chemical, biological, or microbiological analyses on products, raw materials, in-process materials, or stability samples in support of the company's quality program. May perform qualitative tests or quantitative assays on samples using techniques that vary from use of standard analytical equipment to highly modern and automated instrumentation. This is an Evening Shift position that will 

Salary range: $18.50 - $20.00 depending on experience.

This position will be eligible for employee benefits and personal time off.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Capable of accessioning surgical pathology specimens utilizing a Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Properly label specimens components (jars, cassettes, slides, etc.).
  • Maintain filing systems to include FFPE tissue blocks, prepared slides, and related documents.
  • Enforce proper chemical hygiene practices to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Perform chemical hazardous waste disposal in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Comply with quality control policies and SOPs to ensure all aspects of laboratory operation are performed in accordance with accepted standards and applicable laws for clinical laboratories.
  • Perform case distribution.
  • Perform laboratory duties and other required support functions to support department objectives.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager/director.
  • VIZIA Diagnostics Pathology Laboratory attests to the following: For HIPAA compliance purposes, this position has been reviewed by management and meets the 'need to know' PHI access criteria of the HIPAA Security Rule. Additionally, per the HIPAA Privacy Rule, the minimum necessary PHI data elements have been identified by management and the minimum necessary PHI access has been granted to the employee/contractor for them to satisfactorily execute the role and responsibilities of this position.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • At least one year of experience in a medical setting
  • Minimum one year of laboratory experience; customer service, specimen processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems and design

Close supervision. Receives detailed instructions on all assignments and constant checking of work assignments.

Consequence of Errors

Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit and would result only in minor disruption or expense to correct.

Contacts are primarily within the immediate work unit.  Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.


Time Commitment:

The role is a full-time onsite responsibility.

Compensation will be market competitive, including salary and benefits. Employee benefits will start on the first of the third month after you commence work.
