Soil Health Technical Specialist

Myland USA LLC

Phoenix, AZ

Full-time

Job description

Description
About MyLand:
MyLand is a soil health company. By focusing on soil health, we help tackle two of the world's biggest challenges: food security and climate disruption. Our innovative service allows farmers to easily and rapidly implement regenerative agriculture practices and improve their soil health by harnessing the land's own natural ecosystem. We partner with farmers to infuse life into their soil, helping to return farms to their most fertile state, achieving greater productivity and enhanced profitability.
We are seeking a Soil Health Technical Specialist to support our sales team by interpreting soil and crop data and communicating results directly to farmers. This role bridges laboratory data and real-world field management by translating soil health, nutrient, and biological metrics into clear, practical insights, with a specific focus on understanding and explaining the impact of live, native microalgae on soil function, nutrient cycling, and crop performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to explain complex soil processes in a straightforward, farmer-focused manner.
This role will report directly to the Sr Manager of AgScience. This full-time position is in Phoenix, AZ and includes traveling to field sites nationally with occasional weekend or extended hours.
Responsibilities
Data Interpretation & Technical Analysis
  • Analyze and interpret soil and plant health data across biological, chemical, and physical parameters.
  • Evaluate baseline soil conditions and monitor temporal changes to assess treatment impact and field variability.
  • Synthesize laboratory, field, and historical farm data into cohesive agronomic interpretations.
Microalgae & Soil Function Expertise
  • Explain the role of live, native microalgae in carbon cycling, aggregation, nutrient mineralization, water dynamics, and biological activity.
  • Interpret changes in soil biological metrics in the context of microalgae application and soil ecosystem response.
  • Support internal and external understanding of how microalgae influence nutrient efficiency, soil structure, and crop performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of biological interpretation frameworks as new data emerges.

Sales Technical Support
  • Partner with sales representatives on farm visits to present soil, tissue, and soil health data clearly and confidently.
  • Translate complex biological and nutrient dynamics into practical, field-ready management insights tailored to each operation.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert in grower conversations, addressing questions related to soil health, nutrient cycling, irrigation interactions, crop response, and microalgae performance.
  • Support on-farm trials and treatment evaluations by connecting field observations with laboratory findings and historical data.
  • Develop clear customer-facing summaries, reports, and visualizations that communicate agronomic impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, agronomy, and operations teams to ensure consistent, science-based messaging.
  • Document field insights, grower feedback, and interpretation notes to inform continuous program improvement.
  • Travel to support field visits, trials, and grower engagement.

Continuous Learning & Scientific Rigor
  • Stay current on soil health research, nutrient management practices, and biological soil amendments.
  • Contribute to refinement of internal interpretation protocols and data standards.
  • Participate in internal technical discussions and contribute insights to improve product and program performance.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters in Soil Science, Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of soil fertility, nutrient cycling, and soil biology.
  • Ability to interpret biological soil health indicators.
  • Experience with soil health testing (e.g., Haney or similar biological assessments)
  • Field experience working on farms.
  • Knowledge of regenerative or conservation-based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with growers.
  • Willingness to travel to farms.
