Job description

Job Summary:
Jacobs is a company focused on solving the world's most critical problems. They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer / Network Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise systems and network monitoring platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities:
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Micro Focus NA and NNMi to deliver network automation, monitoring, and fault/performance management across enterprise environments, including the creation and customization of views, maps, and dashboards tailored to customer requirements and requests.
• Engineer and support other NMS tools as needed (Content Suite, Service Manager, ALM/QC, LoadRunner, Paragon, Cisco Catalyst Center, etc.) as part of enterprise IT operations.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for systems, networks, and enterprise applications.
• Develop automation scripts, workflows, and integrations to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application development efforts.
• Maintain detailed documentation, system baselines, and upgrade/patch management schedules.
• Collaborate with Configuration Management to design, build, and maintain network configuration standards, incorporating input and best practices from the Network Engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with security, data integrity, and regulatory requirements across IT systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to evaluate and recommend tools that support program directives, including initiatives focused on automation and operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff, leading efforts to replicate and implement your designs consistently across multiple independent systems.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• TS/SCI w/ CI Poly Clearance
• 10+ years of IT experience, with extensive work in systems engineering and network engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Micro Focus NA and NNMi (deployment, configuration, tuning, and support).
• Experience with OpenText or other Micro Focus enterprise tools in IT operations or content management environments.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, fault management, performance monitoring, and automation.
• Previous experience with other NMS tools is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in defense, government, or large enterprise environments highly desirable.
• Advanced technical expertise in network automation, systems integration, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or similar) for automation tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field suggested but not required.
• Certifications in Micro Focus NA, NNMi, OpenText, CCNP/CCNA, or ITIL strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, hybrid IT environments) preferred.
