The Opportunity

We are looking for an extremely motivated and passionate HVAC professional with field operations management experience who would like to be part of an exciting company accelerating the transition to clean energy by disrupting the residential HVAC industry. This marks our expansion into the Maryland market.

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that our HVAC installation teams are fully supported and equipped to perform their work safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role bridges field operations and leadership, with a focus on readiness, resource allocation, technical oversight, and real-time problem-solving to drive team success.

As the licensed field operations leader for the Columbia branch, you will serve as the technical expert for our installation team, ensuring compliance with Maryland HVAC and home improvement regulations while coaching and developing technicians, driving installation quality, and continuously improving our field operations. As we continue to refine the processes and procedures that deliver exceptional installation quality and efficiency, this role will play an integral part in building our operational playbook and contributing to Jetson's knowledge base.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure daily readiness of field teams by coordinating tools, equipment, vehicles, parts, permits, and job documentation.

  • Lead and support residential HVAC installation teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Jetson quality standards.

  • Serve as the licensed Master HVAC/R contractor for the Maryland operation, ensuring compliance with all applicable HVAC licensing requirements, codes, and regulations.

  • Serve as the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) qualifying license holder for residential home improvement work and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Act as the primary liaison between field crews and internal departments including Logistics, Procurement, Scheduling, Engineering, and Customer Success.

  • Conduct site visits to provide technical guidance, quality assurance, coaching, troubleshooting, and installation support.

  • Train, mentor, and develop HVAC installation technicians to improve workmanship, productivity, safety, and customer experience.

  • Review completed installations to ensure quality standards, code compliance, and customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

  • Support warranty investigations, field escalations, and corrective action plans while driving continuous operational improvement.

  • Monitor field KPIs including installation quality, productivity, safety, callbacks, and customer satisfaction.

  • Identify operational obstacles and proactively resolve issues that impact installation timelines or field productivity.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine installation standards, operating procedures, and best practices as the Maryland market continues to grow.

What You'll Bring
  • Maryland Master HVAC/R License (Required).

  • Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) License (Required).

  • EPA Section 608 Certification.

  • HVAC NATE and Section 608 certification preferred.

  • 7+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.

  • 5+ years in a management role, overseeing field teams.

  • Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, including heat pumps, mini-splits, ducted systems, refrigerant handling, electrical components, and installation best practices.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing field technicians.

  • Strong understanding of Maryland building codes, permitting requirements, and residential HVAC regulations.

  • Experience overseeing installation quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Proficiency with scheduling software, mobile work applications, field service management platforms, and general business software.

  • Experience using modern technology, automation, and AI tools to improve operational efficiency.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Follows OSHA Electrical Standard.

  • Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard.
