The Mental Health Associate is a key member of The BridgeWay team who provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The MHA provides for the personal care and comfort of our patients while providing a safe and caring environment. Qualifications
Job Requirements:
  • Associate degree/educational equivalent provided by college transcript or high school diploma/GED with two years of psychiatric/equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
  • Documented experience working with children (ages 5-12), adolescents (ages 13-18), and/or adults (ages 18 plus) preferred, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licenses or Certifications:
  • Current Arkansas Driver's License required if approved to transport patients.
  • Current CPR and Handle With Care certifications or must obtain within two (2) weeks of date of hire.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor, and other hospital employees.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in how information is processed.
