Housekeeper (Room Attendant)

Position Summary

The Housekeeper (Room Attendant) is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall comfort of guest rooms, ensuring every space reflects the elevated yet relaxed experience The Standard is known for. This role plays a key part in shaping the guest experience by creating a clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared environment.

Set within a unique island setting, this position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Housekeepers are expected to work independently while remaining connected to the team, delivering consistent quality and care in every room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain guest rooms (up to 15 per day) in accordance with hotel standards and expectations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dusting, changing linens, making beds, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Ensure all rooms are properly stocked with amenities, linens, and supplies.
  • Safely transport housekeeping carts and maintain organization of supplies at all times.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues or room deficiencies to the appropriate department.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for additional items or services.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms and guest information.
  • Submit all lost and found items in a timely and accurate manner following hotel procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards and hotel policies.
  • Adhere to proper lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques to ensure personal safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage spaces, and service areas.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Remain attentive, observant, and responsive to guest needs and operational priorities throughout the shift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Previous housekeeping or guest-facing experience preferred, ideally in a hotel or hospitality environment.
