THE JOB:
The Events Supervisor is responsible for the strategic execution and coordination of venue events in coordination with and under the supervision of the Director of Entertainment. This role serves as the key contact to support all front of house services in the day-to-day business between the outdoor venues team, third party partners, vendors, and all other MGM Resorts stakeholders in the success of the full event facilitation lifecycle, operational effectiveness while supporting all teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.
THE STARTING RATE: $25.63 per hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Assists the Director of Entertainment with developing and executing department programming calendar
  • Acts as the main point of contact for all internal and external entertainment events throughout the full event lifecycle acting as the Company's direct point of contact from pre-event advance process, event and post-event to financial settlement;
  • Makes on the spot event execution decisions regarding VIP Meet & Greet logistics, break downs, staffing plans and the experience and safety
  • Work alongside supporting departments to facilitate event logistics
  • Develops event information sheets, BEO's and floor plans for distribution to supporting Departments
  • Responsible for the implementation of standard operating procedures related to venue operations with focus on continuous improvement and guest experience to ensure competitiveness, consistency, and quality.
  • Supervises the Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning
  • Makes immediate decisions and communicates to venue management and staff in emergency situations.
  • Develops event estimates and proficiently schedules staff and events according to these needs. Scheduling to include On Call Usher staff in select markets.
  • Facilitates planning meetings, staff trainings, and operational meetings as required, ensuring smooth coordination of guest and event services activities throughout event venues.
  • Coaches and counsel event personnel as needed to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Researches, reviews, and recommends equipment, materials, and supplies required for guest and event services.
  • Create purchasing process: Prepare Purchase Requests and issue Purchase Orders, distribute to Receiving, close POs when complete. Verify invoices for payments.
  • Assists Ticketing Office Manager with ticketing operations
  • Oversees updates and upkeep of Entertainment website landing page in select markets Performs other job-related duties as requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • The schedule is Tuesday - Saturday, with flexibility to be able to work evenings/weekends
  • Detail oriented
  • Enjoys helping others and likes to make a good impression
  • Adapts well to changing situations and can efficiently handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Coupa Purchasing experience (Preferred)

Pay Rate
The rate for this role is:
$25.63
This rate represents a good faith estimate of the wage rate that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire.
Pay will not be below any applicable minimum wage.
Should overtime be worked, employees are paid overtime pay in accordance with state requirements.
Employees in this position are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and time off plans. Specific program offerings vary by eligibility factors such as geographic location, employment status, and union membership.
