Job description

Rehab Aide: This 0.4 FTE/ Relief position is scheduled to work 8-HR day shifts.
Compensation: Non-exempt, $20.06/HR-$28.66/HR. Placement within this range is based on years of applicable experience.

Job Summary:
Assists in the support of therapy programs as organized and supervised by Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists. Assists with various office and program activities. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Assists with patient transport and transfers.
  2. Maintains, cleans, prepares and organizes therapy work spaces, supplies and equipment following OSHA guidelines, federal, state and hospital policies as directed by therapists.
  3. Observes and reports any abnormal patient conditions, reactions and responses to treatment in an effective, professional manner. Communicates patient comments and concerns to therapists.
  4. Provides assistance with therapy scheduling; performs clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
  5. Assists other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients.
  6. Participates in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities. Maintains awareness of policies and procedures and performance standards.
  7. Consistently demonstrates MGH values and provides all patients/customers with an excellent service experience.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. One year current PT aide, OT aide or similar experience within a rehabilitation setting preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
  1. Current NA-C license preferred.
  2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.
