Job Title: Metrology Quality Engineer
Location: Chatsworth, Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000/ year, depending on experience (DPE)

Known for technical excellence and customer service, MQC is rapidly growing and investing in technology and talent to meet evolving industry demands.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Metrology Quality Engineer with expertise in quality systems and metrology. In this role, you will be essential to ensuring the precision, accuracy, and compliance of clients' measurement instruments. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, keen attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, standards-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure calibrations, inspections, and verifications comply with ISO, ANSI, and related standards.
  • Act as subject matter expert on calibration quality, offering technical guidance to teams.
  • Develop or assist in calibration procedures, uncertainty budgets, and technical applications.
  • Improve calibration methods or quality control to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and traceability.
  • Manage ITAR-controlled documents and ensure compliance with export regulations.
  • Maintain technical documentation, calibration records, and certificates per regulations.
  • Analyze calibration data; investigate anomalies, resolve OOTs, and lead CAPAs.
  • Oversee verification and performance checks of lab equipment and standards.
  • Support and prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Train technicians on procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Communicate results and insights to stakeholders; provide documentation and support.
  • Follow all safety and operational protocols in lab and field environments.

Requirements and Skills:

  • 3–5 years of direct, hands-on calibration and metrology experience required (bench-level work); quality experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metrology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality theory (Kaizen, TQM) and tools (5-Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Knowledge of calibration principles, uncertainty analysis, and relevant standards preferred.
  • Experience with calibration software, equipment, and technical documentation preferred.
  • CAPA, audit, and quality system improvement experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in both lab and field environments.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and U.S. citizenship required.
