Job description

Position Description, Functions, Duties and Tasks:
The Metrology Specialist maintains metrology systems and SOP’s in accordance with corporate and federal guidelines and insures that standards used in calibrations throughout the facility are maintained and have an unbroken chain of traceability. Maintains standards so that they are capable of making measurements to their performance specifications and is the site SME for metrology processes and standards.
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
 Maintain metrology systems and SOP’s in accordance with corporate and federal guidelines. Maintain audit ready status.
 Site SME for metrology processes and SOP’s.
 Control and maintain calibration standards.
 Coordinate work, instrument/standards shipments, and site visits contract vendors.
 Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Metrology lab and all associated standards.
 Maintain the unbreakable record of traceability for calibrations.
 Perform level 1 deviations and change controls associated with metrology standards and instruments.
 Determine maximum deviation associated with level 1 deviations.
 Lead small projects associated with metrology processes.
 Document and/or provide guidance on instrument changes/additions.
 Work with site engineering to improve instrument reliability.
 Initiate maintenance requests as required.
 Provide troubleshooting and backup I amp;E support to the site as needed.
 Maintain a safe work environment, work safely, and accountable for supporting HSE goals and initiatives.
 Keep up to date on required training and SOP reads.
 Adhere to quality standards required for operating and maintaining a GMP facility.
Minimum Qualification (Education, Experience and/or Training, Required Certifications):
 Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma, or GED
 Experience: 10 years experience with Metrology lab management, preferably within a regulated industry.
Additional Preferences:
 Proficient with CMMS systems, SE Suite, Word, and Excel
 Knowledge of cGMP standards
 Technical Degree preferred
