Job description

1. Calibrates Precision Electronic Test Equipment to verify established tolerances using standard Metrology practices and specified manuals or calibration procedures.
2. Performs algebraic, trigonometric and calculations to determine operating characteristics of equipment.
3. Maintains electronic test equipment in proper operating condition through periodic inspection, calibration, troubleshooting and repair.
4. Troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and overhauls electronic test equipment through use of schematic diagrams, logic diagrams or instruction sheets as furnished (may be vague and incomplete as a result of uniqueness).
5. Repairs test fixtures and equipment using hand tolls and small machine tools as necessary.
6. Suggests electrical or mechanical design variations to meet new requirements subject to approval by design authority.
7. Sets up automated test positions and assists in setting up safety devices for the protection of operators when necessary.
8. May advise users of equipment in regard to proper operation and equipment limitations.
9. May make up interconnecting cables to facilitate assembly of equipment controllers in automated calibration systems or, as required, to verify the proper operation of test equipment removed from automated test positions.
10. Operate computers used as equipment controllers in automated calibration systems or used to verify the proper operation of test equipment removed from automated test positions.
11. Updates and maintains data elements of the Metrology Management System.
12. Utilize the Intra-Net to access policies and procedures.
