Role Overview: The 2nd Shift Metrology Inspector will perform advanced dimensional inspections of aerospace hardware during receiving, in-process, and final stages of production. This role supports Hera's mission by ensuring every part meets the precise specifications required for flight and defense systems. The inspector will apply strong GD&T knowledge, operate advanced metrology tools including Romer Arm, and uphold AS9100 standards to ensure product integrity and traceability
Key Responsibilities
• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of components and assemblies using precision measurement equipment, including Romer Arm, micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Conduct and document first article inspections in compliance with AS9102 requirements.
• Verify coatings, finishes, and special processes against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify and document nonconformances, ensuring proper segregation and traceability per company procedures.
• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to assess workmanship and resolve quality issues.
• Ensure all gauges and instruments are calibrated and compliant prior to use.
• Maintain 5S, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the inspection area.
• Support cross-functional quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of aerospace or precision manufacturing inspection experience.
• Proficient in mechanical inspection using Romer Arm and other measurement tools.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret aerospace blueprints.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards.
• Proven attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience inspecting metallic and non-metallic thermal protection components.
• Familiarity with JobBOSS or other ERP/MRP systems.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with Romer arm inspection equipment.
• Experience with Verisurf Software
• Knowledge of NADCAP and special process verification.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
